Needs of Company Company needs & objectives ::.

How Application Works How it works ::.

A trading house located at the Chicago Board of Trade in downtown Chicago needed a web application that would allow them to port the customer application process to the internet, which was previously done through traditional methods via the telephone and/or paper, resulting in the need for personnel to data enter the new information.

Instead they wanted to be able to process more applications in less time and with less overhead. This project was able to meet those needs.

The process begins when a user logs onto the website:
  • Users are presented with a login screen:This helps minimize erroneous data entered by casual surfers.
  • Next the user must register by simply inputting an email address and a password of their choosing.
  • Once this information is gathered, the user is brought to the application forms.

Custom Form Design Form Presentation ::.

Six different forms are presented to the user in a wizard-like fashion. Each form groups related information, and does not allow the user to continue to the next form unless certain validation requirements have been met (i.e.. a phone number looks like a phone number and a name looks like a name).
  • When a validation error occurs, the user is presented the same form with the fields in question highlighted to help them identify what requirements have not been met.
  • Based on the answers provided, certain elements, either on the same form or further along in the application process, are enable or disabled to help the user fill in only the information that is relevant to their specific application.
  • At each step along the application process, the information is added to a newly designed database specifically for this project.
  • The process culminates in a summary view of their information, and allows them to go back to any form which may require modification.
  • When the user is satisfied with their information, they then click a submit button which generates a pdf document containing the clients information. This file is automatically downloaded by the user, where they can print the document.
  • The pdf generating process was developed and created exclusively for this client as well.
